This Pan American poster from the late 1950s advertising service to London was created by Aaron Fine. Fine was a highly talented commercial artist, book illustrator, and playwright. He was also close friends with Andy Warhol who created the sets for one of Fine’s plays. He worked with Pan Am to create a number of posters promoting the airline’s worldwide destinations. In this mid-century masterpiece Fine featured London’s red double-decker buses with Piccadilly Circus in the background and the iconic British brands Bovril and Schweppes. Have you ever been to London? poster: Pan American World Airways, London; late 1950s Collection of SFO Museum 2019.121.0029 https://bit.ly/3YYTgay
