The Convair XC-99 was a prototype cargo aircraft used by the United States Air Force in the 1940s. In its double-decker fuselage, the XC-99 could carry 100,000 pounds of cargo powered by six Pratt & Whitney engines. With a wingspan of 230 feet and measuring 185 feet, it had a range of over 8,000 miles. A commercial variant, the Convair Model 37, was planned but was never put into production.
