In the 1920s, barnstorming was a popular form of entertainment. Stunt pilots and aerialists would perform tricks including wing walking and playing sports. This postcard shows tennis being played in the sky on the wings of a Curtiss JN-4 Jenny biplane. The back side reads “Ivan Unger and Gladys Roy playing tennis on wings of airplane in flight, c. 1925.” Known for her wing walking, Gladys Roy was a popular barnstormer and aviatrix in the 1920s.
