Some fantastic graphics appear on this National Air Transport timetable from 1929, and airmail prices are advertised at 5¢ for the first ounce. National Air Transport claimed to be the first airline in the United States, as they were the first company started specifically to operate as an airline on May 21, 1925. The carrier merged with other airlines including Boeing Air Transport and Varney Air Lines to form today's United Air Lines in 1930. Image: National Air Transport timetable, 1929. Gift of Thomas G.
