Sometimes after objects go on display, they need a little love. Our 1:10 scale model Douglas DC-8 received attention after a piece of the interior wall detached. Our conservator promptly performed the necessary maintenance. #MuseumMonday #BehindTheScenes

Some of the final objects to be reinstalled are model aircraft suspended from the ceiling. Our preparators took great care in re-hanging models of the Pan Am Clipper (a Sikorsky S-42) and the China Clipper (a Martin M-130).

What’s happening at the museum? Last week, we posted about our conservator-approved non-woven material, Fosshape, for our upcoming piña lace exhibition. Our preparators have create these displays and used this material to lay the delicate fabric.
