#Onthisday in 1937, Trans-Canada Air Lines (TCA), the flag carrier of Canada, was founded by royal assent in Parliament. The airline's first flight took off from Vancouver to Seattle on September 1, 1937. The flight carried mail and two passengers whose round-trip tickets each cost $14.20CAD, or $219.30USD in today's currency. TCA was renamed Air Canada in 1965.
