Air Afrique was multinational African airline, based in the Republic of Côte d'Ivoire. Founded #onthisday in 1961, the airline began as a joint venture of Air France and Union Aéromaritime de Transport (UAT) and eleven former French colonies: Benin, Burkina Faso, Cameroon, Central African Republic, Chad, Gabon, Mauritania, Niger, the Republic of the Congo, the Republic of Côte d'Ivoire, and Senegal. By the end of the decade the airline flew to 30 destinations in Africa, Europe, and North America. The airline lasted until 2002. Did you ever fly on Air Afrique?
