In the 1930s, TWA (Transcontinental & Western Air, later Trans World Airlines) was known as the Lindbergh Line. It boasted the first coast-to-coast service and starting on February 1, 1933 extended their transcontinental route to San Francisco Airport. TWA was among the first airlines to serve SFO. The Lindbergh Line was named after Colonel Charles Lindbergh, who sat on TWA’s committee to oversee the airline’s technical and operational protocol. This image was posted on October 16, 2015.
