The @49ers assembled the “Million Dollar Backfield” in 1954, featuring (left-to-right) running backs Hugh McElhenny and Joe Perry, quarterback Y. A. Tittle, and fullback John Henry Johnson. All four are enshrined in the Pro Football Hall of Fame, the only complete backfield from one team so honored. San Francisco native, Frank Rippon, was the “de facto” team photographer for the San Francisco 49ers from 1948 to 1984.
