Aerovías del Continente Americano S.A. or Avianca traces its beginning back to 1919. The oldest airline in the Americas, it was originally founded as Sociedad Colombo Alemana de Transporte Aéreo or SCADTA on December 5, 1919, and has been the flag carrier of Colombia since. When the company merged with SACO (Servicio Aéreo Colombiano) in 1940, it became Avianca or Airways of the American Continent. Have you ever flown with Avianca?
