This assemblage by Mildred Howard is created from 130 real saxophones. Above and below the saxophones are the opening bars of jazz great Dizzy Gillespie’s famous composition, “Salt Peanuts.” The artwork is not only a homage to Gillespie, it is also an acknowledgement of the importance of jazz in San Francisco’s cultural history. See "Salty Peanuts" by Mildred Howard, located, post-security, in the International Terminal. http://bit.ly/2uX0XQP This image was posted on August 06, 2017.
