Though this American Airlines brochure was produced in the 1970s, the flight attendants on the cover are posing in front of a piston-powered Ford Tri-Motor from the 1920s. This two-tone uniform in checked and solid navy-blue polyester was created in 1974 by American fashion designer Bill Blass (1922-2002), who was known for elegant daywear and traditional fabrics.
