One of the most individualistic, great Texas barrelhouse pianists, Alex Moore (1899–1989) made his first recordings with Columbia Records in the late 1920s. After recording with Arhoolie Records in the 1960s, the Dallas native became more widely known. Moore received a National Heritage Fellowship from the National Endowment for the Arts in 1987. "Down-Home Music: The Story of Arhoolie Records" is on display, post-security, in Terminal 2. http://bit.ly/StoryofArhoolie
