In honor of our 40th anniversary, every week this year we are highlighting one of our past exhibitions. In 1999, we presented "Beauty and Culture: From the Collection of the POLA Research Institute of Beauty and Culture, Tokyo, Japan," which featured the history, method, and utensils of Japanese makeup during the late Edo period (1784-1867) and the Meiji period (1867-1912).
