Braniff International was the only airline besides Air France and British Airways to operate the Concorde. From 1978 to 1980, the airline leased eleven Concorde aircraft (five from Air France and six from British Airways) for subsonic flights between Dallas–Fort Worth and Washington Dulles—the U.S. would not allow supersonic flights on this route because of the sonic boom produced by the aircraft.
