Produced in China, the ceramic pieces of Continental Airlines Contrails Red logo meal service ware included entree, side, and bread plates, along with bowls, condiment dishes and coffee cups and saucers. The Contrails logo was repeated in white on the glassware and imprinted on the handles of the flatware. Premium meal services on the carrier’s South Pacific flights included hearty selections such as lamb stew and shepherd’s pie. The set was introduced in the early 1980s and in use until the end of the decade. “More than a Meal: Airline Meal Service Sets, 1960s–80s” is on display, pre-security, in the International Terminal. https://bit.ly/AirlineMealSets
