Today is National Aviation Day! Established in 1939 by Franklin Delano Roosevelt, National Aviation Day is celebrated every year on Orville Wright's birthday. This year is the 85th anniversary of National Aviation Day! By 1939, aviation became so prevalent that there were six airfield locations in the Bay Area as seen on this map.
