Happy birthday to Alphonse Mucha, who was born yesterday in 1860. His artwork represents the culmination of Art Nouveau graphic arts. Born in Moravia, in what is now the Czech Republic, Mucha first worked as a stage painter and attended the Académie Julian in Paris before he became a renowned graphic artist and designer.
