Traditional female attire in San Andrés, Mexico, are huipiles (blouses) with extensive decoration at the neck and sleeves. Their traditional huipiles feature designs in brocade and embroidery on a white, woven background, while the more recent blusa Maya style, such as this huipil, exhibits bold, bright colors made possible by modern thread.
