At the saloon? In a pinch and need some buttons? This coin-operated machine from around 1905 would have had you buttoned-up in no time and for only 5¢. A men’s fashion necessity in the 20th century, buttons kept celluloid collars in place on dress shirts. All objects are courtesy of Joe Welch American Antique Museum in San Bruno, California.
