#Onthisday in 1929, Inter-Island Airways started schedule passenger service with two Sikorsky S-38 planes linking the Hawaiian Islands. Though not yet a state, airlines operating in the Territory of Hawaii were under the jurisdiction of the United States’ Civil Aeronautics Board.
