#OnThisDay in 1931, Anne Morrow Lindbergh and Charles A. Lindbergh, took off on a survey flight from Long Island to China, to scout out a commercial route to Asia for Pan American Airways. Anne flew with Charles as navigator and radio operator and took over for him when he was tired on long flights.
