Dining Aloft: Airline Meal Service Settings See all the exhibitions.

This aviation exhibition was on display between April 2006 and May 2007 in the A-03 Entrance Lobby A gallery, located in Terminal 1

Dining in airplanes has taken many forms. Dining in the unique environment of an airplane required special consideration for the design of tableware items. Typically bearing an airline's corporate logo service mark, the tableware also has distinctive patterns often related to national origin or destination. "Dining Aloft" tells how the airline industry tried to create a traditional restaurant experience using airline china, silverware, and glassware that was carefully conceived for economy of space, ease of preparation, and durability.
