The exhibition features over thirty African shields, varied in design, material, and construction, which express the individuality and diversity of the continent's many cultures. Native groups represented include the Kikuyu and Maasai of Kenya, the Zulu of South Africa, the Azande of the Sudan and Zaire, and the Nyoro of Uganda.
