The Resplendent Stone: Chinese Jades from the 18th-20th Centuries See all the exhibitions.

This nonaviation exhibition was on display between December 2009 and June 2010 in the A-02 International South Cases gallery, located in International Terminal

Jade of various types is found in many parts of the world, but China is unique in that the Chinese have creatively worked this stone for more than six thousand years. This exhibition features jade carvings from the Ming (368-1644) and Qing (1644-1911) dynasties, along with post-dynastic jades in addition to non-Chinese Mughal jades. Animals, objects of an archaic nature, copies of antiques, visual puns, religious objects, items of personal adornment, objects intended for the use of China’s educated elite, utensils for use in ritual and ceremonial occasions, and utilitarian jades encompass the exhibition.
