Aeropuerto: Early Airports in Latin America See all the exhibitions.

This aviation exhibition was on display between May 2008 and December 2009 in the AML 06 Aviation Museum Gallery 06a-e gallery, located in International Terminal

These black-and-white photographs provide a survey of airport facilities built by Pan American Airways to introduce air services throughout Latin America in the 1930s and 1940s. Located in population centers and remote outposts along these far-flung routes, the architecture of these early airports range in style from ornate Spanish Colonial to modest regional vernacular.
