The Victorian Kitchen See all the exhibitions.

This nonaviation exhibition was on display between September 2008 and May 2009 in the A-02 International South Cases gallery, located in International Terminal

Significant changes in preparing and cooking food took place during the Victorian Era (1837-1901), and the objects in this exhibition reflect the ongoing progression in kitchen technology during this period. The conversion from the open hearth to the cast-iron cooking range in the mid-nineteenth century revolutionized the Victorian kitchen. It also demanded an entirely new set of kitchenwares and prompted a variety of new menu items.
