    Following the passage of the Airline Deregulation Act, in 1979 Allegheny Airways changed its name to US Air. In the next decade, US Air acquired Pacific Southwest Airlines (PSA) and Piedmont Airlines. #DefunctThursday #USAirways This tweet was posted on December 29, 2022.
    Throughout the 1960s and 70s, Allegheny merged with several other small local airlines, such as Lake Central and Mohawk.
