We are saddened by the recent of San Francisco photographer Fred Lyon, who died in August at the age of 97. The first graded airstrip was 4,950 feet long and surfaced in rolled rock fill covered with two inches of earth. Today the airport has four runways with the shortest measuring at 7,650 feet long and the longest at 11,870 feet long.
