For ๐๐บ๐ฎ๐ฑ๐ฉ๐ฐ๐ฏ๐ช๐ค ๐๐ข๐ฏ๐ค๐ฆ๐ด, Liang chose to create a โspiritual, abstract world,โ he says, โwhat you would call the in-between, where itโs neither this world nor the next world... I donโt want to limit audiences in what they see.โ #SFBalletAt90 @SFBallet #Ballet

Lopez Ochoaโs ballet also encompasses flamenco dance and bullfighting. The four principal dancers wear bull horns; the bull symbolizes violence and powerโaggressor and victim. #SFBalletAt90 @SFBallet #Ballet

For her first San Francisco Ballet commission, ๐๐ถ๐ฆ๐ณ๐ฏ๐ช๐ค๐ข, Lopez Ochoa drew inspiration from painter Pablo Picasso, particularly ๐๐ถ๐ฆ๐ณ๐ฏ๐ช๐ค๐ข, which he painted in response to the devastating bombing of the Basque town Guernica during the Spanish Civil War. #SFBalletAt90
