From corals, abalone, and giant clams to sharks, stonefish, and porcupine fish, "The Sea" presents a brief overview of the animal life found in waters around the world. The tremendous variety of sea life on display reflects diverse living conditions that vary from shallow reefs to abyssal depths. This exhibit also features many examples of navigational and fishing technology, jewelry, scrimshaw, clothing, and countless other items that demonstrate the extent to which the sea is interwoven into the lives of people and cultures throughout the globe.
