These brightly chromolithographed or hand-colored board games of the nineteenth century present and interesting vision of the recreation and pastimes of the last century. They also graphically reflect the customs and concerns of that time and depict developments which transformed the world; political events, advances in science and transportation, changes in fashion and social mores. From the private collection of Ellen and Arthur Liman.
