Captured in Stone: Fossils from the California Academy of Sciences See all the exhibitions.

This nonaviation exhibition was on display between August 2005 and February 2006 in the F-02 North Connector gallery, located in Terminal 3

Fossils are traces of ancient plants or animals that are preserved in geological formations, in particular sedimentary rocks. More than 500 examples of mollusks, trilobites (an extinct sea creature), dinosaurs, sharks, and other fossilized remains comprise this exhibition from the collection of the California Academy of Sciences, San Francisco. "Fossils" addresses such topics as adaptation, coexistence, plate tectonics, evolution, environment, and representative fossils of California.
