With the rise of the industrial revolution and the search for new markets, the stage was set for industrial and decorative arts fairs on a large scale. Thus, the 1851 Crystal Palace exhibition in London began a tradition of world's fairs that has continued more or less uninterrupted to the present day. "World's Fairs" presents memorabilia, souvenirs, and inventions from ten international expositions held between 1851 and 1964. The exhibition highlights many of the artistic, scientific, or industrial achievements of the day.
