Travel documentation is one of the oldest functions of photography. Contemporary fine art photographers discover and explore investigative themes through travel and often combine photography, video, and even performance in their work. In Centres of the World/Enjoy Yourself 1999-2002, Lithuanian artist Dainus Liskevicius created a visual travel log of about 400 self-portraits in which he stood on his head for about a minute at random sites in Holland, Poland, Finland, Lithuania, Sweden, and every other country he visited.
