Spirits in the Wind: Sequin Art of Haiti See all the exhibitions.

This nonaviation exhibition was on display between June 2003 and March 2004 in the D-01 Central North Connector gallery, located in Terminal 2

One of the more popular art forms to originate in Haiti from Vodou, a blend of African and European religious traditions, is a brightly colored ritual flag made of sequins. Created today as works of art, the flags are designed by artists who draw a design on a piece of stretched fabric and then sew each bead and sequin in place to produce a bold, colorful picture, often with an elaborate border.
