Turkmen Jewelry See all the exhibitions.

This nonaviation exhibition was on display between February 2003 and September 2003 in the G-02 International North Cases gallery, located in International Terminal

The jewelry made of beaten silver inset with precious stones by the nomadic groups of the former Soviet Republic of Turkmenistan combines influences of Byzantine, classical, Arab, Iranian, Turkish, Far Eastern, and Indian art. It has remained largely unchanged since the fifteenth century. Not until the 1970s, however, did these objects become available outside the USSR. From the collection of the Pola Research Institute of Beauty and Culture in Tokyo.
